Does what it says on the tin

If you just need a simple way to open and read .epub files, this will do it! No frills, dont need any.

Oh, no!

I dont think it works well for me. Your developer should do something to upgrade it.

Quick Look Support

This ePub reader is simple and helpful. Contrary to other more feature-rich apps, this one has quick look support. Makes it easy to id books.

cannot uninstall this thing

It fails horribly on my technical epub with lots of math, and I am unable to uninstall this thing from my Mac.

It

The thing I noticed of import was that I could not have multiple bookmarks - though a newer edition may fix that. I have many readers, and they all have their positives. Calibre is full featured, but its big, and some things it does - may be wonky, but its the only app that does them. That includes reading every format (let alone converting back and forth to ePub, Mobi and formats youve never even heard of). Kindle Reader and Adobe Digital Editions are top notch, but they dont read each others formats - which is their key downfall. THIS app is excellent for having a fast reader available - or to include with a DRM free ebook that you send to someone. Depite my having the "Photoshop" and "InDesign" of readers (Kindle for Mac & Digital Editions, as well as Calibre), having a tiny app that works DOES have value for small partitions, bootable USB drives, etc. Its not meant to take on those apps - and you shouldnt expect it to. The thing is just 1.9MB in size! I made a folder for this app, using their logo, and the EMPTY FOLDER was 500K!! Give credit where credit is due. Its a fine litle app, and I hope they can add a few features while keeping it small. FYI - Photoshop 1.0 used to come on an 800K floppy disc - and thats where/how you ran it if you didnt have a Mac Plus or better. 800K. Thats all! Now it is •3000x larger• than that original app! Yet I still use it 85% of the time for the same functions, despite all the added features. Thats how Kitabu is compared to the big apps. It lets you read your book, its tiny and it was free. Its a nice app.

I want to like this, but it won’t necessarily show more than 3 pages out of 40+ pages. It *would* be nice to get away from the hassle of having to organize buggy libraries. It just doesn’t necessarily show the whole document.

Spent some time importing books to this app. One at a time as that’s it’s only option. Only to find that it doesn’t display any of them. Only good for taking up space on the hard disk since it doesn’t work.

Not worth the time

This app did not work. After figuring out you have to load the library with your epub file, the program did not read my image, only the text.

For the books I tested it just did not work. The window autosized to weird dimensions and the text would run off the bottom of the window with no ability to scroll to the undisplayed text. I finally figured out how to get the display options onto the page, but then couldn’t apply any display changes.

I was looking for a way to get iBooks to increase page width for some books with Java source code (Java is compicated enough, but if you let iBooks re-format source code then it’s Mission Impossible to understand anything) and so I came across this FREE app, before buying the other ones. Works perfect! Much wider pages, I’m happy! Did I mention it is FREE? lol

This app works quite well in most regards but it has a few annoying shortcomings and bugs. The app doesn’t remember some of it’s settings (such as window size and position and menu bar settings), so these have to be configured each time it is launched.
